I, Masayasu Tzboguchi, called"M.T.Man," was born in 1964. I grew up under my musical home environment, for both of my parents were music teachers. Then I studied specially physical science at the university. Meantime, my yearning occupation in future changed variously. In my infancy, I wanted to be either an entomologist or a carpenter. But, when a schoolboy, I longed for being a physician. In my junior high days, I wished to do the work of investigating railways all over the world. Afterwards, in the course of further groping for my future, I was captivated by rock'n' roll and jazz, which has made me what I am. As time goes by, I realize more and more that my interests and senses of beauty of those days have been reflected in my own music.
This "PROJECT" was fostered by my personal impulses alone while I had diverse activities in music. This album was made in process of my musical performances at "the SHINJUKU PIT INN" and other jazz clubs within the metropolitan sphere. All of the musicians contributing to "PROJECT" are younger artists of the most significance in the Tokyo live scene. A thousand thanks! I was much blessed with coactors. I owe "PROJECT" solely to their supports. Without their various charms, not to speak of their musicalities, I would not be active in musical performances and could not have managed to complete my album. Maybe, sometimes casting my coactors for the parts of the bad, and sometimes for the parts of my men, I continued acting a part of a righteous hero toward the goal. About my mental age, I remain what I was in my primary days when I played "M.T.Man Game" with my mates.
I tried to categorize unreasonably the style of my music as "Paradise Jazz Rock," "Natural Color Jazz Nursery Song," "Neo-Fusion Optimism," and so on. But I could not define it readily. For this reason, I would like to leave the matter to you.
July, 1995 Masayasu Tzboguchi
